Hi MrZ

What kind of parasites were they? If you want to avoid that kind of thing in future you need to get hold of some redmite/parasite powder.

If you haven't heard of it, you can put it straight on the chickens like talcum powder (smells nice, thankfully) , and you'll also need to do ALL their housing too (you can mix the powder and water and spray it). Redmite in particular can cause them to go anaemic and can cause them to become egg bound too. It's dreadful at this time of year, particularly when it gets hot and humid.

Hope the new girls are settling in well, and that horsey horse and Victoria are getting along. Take care

Hi there ^.^

The Rural Muse forum is generally where I do my smallholder chatting, feel free to join. It's a small and friendly place for smallholders around the UK (plus a few from abroad).
